Breeding Services
Manuel's Legend Ranch offers stud and mating services to local ranchers looking to diversify their bloodline, continue an established lineage, or help expand their herd. Contact us today for more information on joining our legacy.
1
Stud Mating
We offer a natural service synchronization program in which our stud naturally services your cow(s) or heifer(s). Our main stud, "Torito", is a second generation purebred Brangus bull registered with the International Brangus Breeders Association (#R10424907). Additionally, we also sell viable bred or unbred cow(s) or heifer(s) if you are looking to expand your herd size. Our herd is comprised of 50/50 Brangus and Hereford composite breeds.
2
Breeding Advice & Herd Rotation
We provide an analysis of current herd size and lineage and will provide a customized breeding season plan. Straight-breeding is the practice of using the same cattle breed for both sires and dams. Cross-breeding is the practice of breeding two purebreds of different breeds. We currently offer purebred studs which offer the opportunity for either operation. Creating a breeding plan is paramount in avoiding inbreeding, which occurs over time in breeds that are closed to outside breeding stock. This can lead to reduced performance in traits such as fertility, livability, and longevity.

How does the stud program work?
Our stud program will consist of delivering our stud to your pasture, typically for 30 days. Upon delivery, we will provide a negative trich and passing semen test for our stud. At the end of the term, you will deliver the stud back to Manuel's Legend Ranch. We also offer pasture space to house your cow(s) and heifer(s) with our stud at Manuel's Legend Ranch for a period of 30 days. This will be an additional expense to cover feed and medical treatment for your herd.
★
Is the stud progam right for me?
Natural service synchronization can provide concise calving distribution, with the potential for your stock to be serviced twice in about 30 days. Expected pregnancy rates are normally 60-70% during 21 days of breeding, assuming that your cow(s) and heifer(s) are in cycle.

Factors to consider when participating in a stud program includes the experience of the bull (virgin vs. mature), pasture size, terrain, and herd size. We offer mature studs with experience, allowing more cow(s) and heifer(s) to be serviced during the program duration.

Okay, I want to do it. Where do I start?
If you are ready to participate in our stud program, head to our Contact Page to submit a request for someone to contact you. We will provide you with a contract that includes all of the requirements that must be met. If our stud will be delivered to your pasture, we will set up a time to inspect your ranch to ensure it meets our minimum standards for care. Once the contract is signed and approved, you will complete your payment and have your breeding dates scheduled.
